During the months of September and October of 2017, I volunteered to be the Dissaster Assistance Medical Team (DMAT) interpretor that came to assist my hometown during Hurricane Maria. My role consisted in guiding the team throughout the far regions of the municipality of Utuado and assist them in understanding the locals medical needs. Not only did I translated for the doctors and nurses that were present, but  helped hands on with any task they'd asked of me. I encounter many difficult situations, but all in all thrived to help the people in need.
